About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to solicitation number 140L6221R0006 from the Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management Wyoming Region for the John Blue Rock Grinding Phase 2 opportunity. The solicitation requires grinding two miles of John Blue Road and does not include grinding Ball Bearing hill. A bid guarantee is required per the proposal instructions. Used conveyor belting cannot be used to construct the rubber water stops, which must meet the drawing specifications. The rubber water stops must be bid per each unit rather than by the foot, due to varying lengths required. If solid rock prevents installing a water stop in the identified location, the contractor may move the location as long as it remains effective, or must jackhammer the rock to allow installation in the original location.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. Are we grinding exactly 2 miles?

Yes, grinding two miles of John Blue Road

2. Are we grinding Ball Bearing hill?

No

3. Is a Bid Guarantee required? (SF1442 says not required, Proposal Volume 1 lists it)

Yes, a bid guarantee is required.

4. May used conveyor belting be used to construct the rubber water stops?

Rubber water bars shall be constructed per drawings.

5. Can the rubber water stops be bid the foot instead of by the each? (The length of them is going to vary depending on the width of the road at each location.)

No, Each.

6. If solid rock is encountered where a water stop is to be located can we move the location, or do you want to jackhammer the rock to get it excavated?

Yes, can move the location but still close enough to the identified location to have them be effective to mitigate the water. If unable to achieve the location to have the water stop effective than will need to jackhammer the rock to install.
