About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document (Amendment 1) for federal contract opportunity 140G0126Q0149 regarding the coating and rehabilitation of an elevated water tank at the Wetland and Aquatic Research Center.

The water tank is a 1985-constructed structure measuring 10 feet in height and 10 feet in diameter, elevated 25 feet in the air to facilitate gravity feed. The tank features a 30-inch diameter manway on top and is used exclusively for aquaculture and fish growth operations, not potable water. As-built construction drawings are not available for review. The tank does not contain lead, and existing coatings are non-hazardous, requiring no disinfection. USGS staff will drain the tank onsite prior to work commencement. All work must be performed during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time; extended hours and weekend work are not permitted. The laydown area will be located on-site directly at the tank location, and water is available at the work location for pressure washing. No liquidated damages are assessed for this project, and no bid bond is required.
