140G0126Q0006 Amendment 001 Q&A

1. During the site visit, our technician noticed that in addition to the 6HP Circulating pump, 2 additional 3 horsepower supply and return heating pumps were at the facility. Do these pumps also need to be replaced?

a. No

2. We have talked to a roofing company regarding patchwork from removing the stack. They stated that this work should be performed by the company that currently has a warranty on the roof. If this roof is currently under warranty, we will need a contact for that company.

2. No warranty; Contractor shall complete this work.

3. There is a heat exchanger in boiler number two. What is being fed from that heat exchanger will not be able to be added to this new system without an additional heat exchanger and pump. This heat exchanger will need to be sized based on what it is supplying.

3. The H/E is no longer in use

4. I did not see any reference to Control Service Corporation and the integration of the controls for the new boilers but I assume that it will be necessary to have their work included in the scope.

a. Yes, SOW revised to include statement: Control Service Company provides the current building automation and shall be utilized for integration of the controls for the new boilers.

5. There is a reference to a 1/6 HP circulating pump which appears to be the one that circulates boiler water through a heat exchanger for heating the domestic water.

5. There is no domestic water. This is used to heat the water storage tank.

6. The solicitation indicates that the work should be done within 60 days of NTP. Do you want to take boilers down in the winter?

a. No. SOW revised to include statement: Heat cannot be taken down until after April 1, 2026.

7. The 200 gallon tank has 4 piping connections. Is it just a storage tank? Is it for heating water or for domestic hot water -- this could impact the tank requirements.

7. It is used to heat research water.

8. Is there a preferred location for the exhaust vents for the boilers? The current combustion exhaust for the boilers is to be removed and it is too close to an air intake hood to meet code standards. The exhaust vents are not supposed ot be located too close to operable doors or windows or fresh air intakes.

8. No

9. Is it safe to assume that there is no warranty on the roof that will be impacted by repairs?

9. No warranty
