Question# 1: Are the horizontal pipes leading from the river to the stilling well? Trying to determine if a flowable fill is appropriate for the filling the well.
Answer: Yes, there is an intake pipe running from the stilling well to the river. Likely one or two 2” pipe.
Question #2: Is the well-being filled and left opened, or capped/covered?
Answer: The well needs to be filled. If the question of capping is meant to be with concreter, no we are not requiring the well be capped with concrete after being filled, but will leave it up to the contractor.
Question #3: Assuming there is a pad underneath the structure, is this to be removed, and graded to match the surrounding are around the top of the well?
Answer: Yes, the well walls need to be removed to below grade, the well filled, and the yard graded and seeded to match existing grade.
Question #4: Regarding connection to the river/creek if there are horizontal pipes leading to the water, are there shut-off valves on the pipes, and are they/can they be closed?
Answer: There is a valve, but it’s not operational.
