About this file
This file contains technical specifications and bid documents for boathouse foundation repairs at the Plum Island Life-Saving Station within the Green Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Door County, Wisconsin. The documents outline detailed requirements for concrete work, erosion control, demolition, and construction activities for repairing existing historic boathouse foundation piers.
Key specifications include requirements for cast-in-place concrete with 4500 psi minimum 28-day compressive strength, environmental controls to prevent sediment discharge, salvage of historic materials where possible, and underwater concrete placement procedures using tremie methods. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, and equipment, including temporary facilities and utilities. Special considerations include protection of the historic structure, dive inspection requirements for underwater work, and limitations on construction activities like restricting work to no more than two piers at a time. The specifications also require a third-party testing inspector for quality control and detailed documentation of all testing and inspection activities. A wetland delineation report from 2021 is included showing the project area contains only uplands with no wetland impacts anticipated.
