I. SUMMARY:
A. This statement of services is for a limited conceptual design, final design, and construction administration for an approximate 3,000 square-foot Visitor Contact Station at Assabet River NWR. The site address is 680 Hudson Rd, Sudbury, MA 01776. We ask the chosen A/E to use the existing, 100% complete contract documents from the Prime Hook NWR Visitor Contact Station as their starting point when “designing” this facility.
B. Utilizing the existing set of complete contract documents (CAD drawings and specifications from the Prime Hook NWR Visitor Contact Station Project) and a limited conceptual design provided by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that shows minor layout changes and building configuration, this project will provide ecological, and environmental education needs of the staff of Eastern MA National Wildlife Refuge Complex. Limited modifications to the building will be needed to modify the plan to suit the northern site. There will be an exhibit/information area, private office, Friends of Nature Store, multi-purpose room (occupancy of 75 utilizing 15 net SF per occupant), public restrooms, maintenance room, and storage rooms. (See attached preliminary conceptual design).
1. Provide all required civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services. All required permits, geotechnical survey, site survey, furniture layout, audio/visual equipment, security, keyed building access, telecommunications, and fire alarm system are all included in the design scope of this project.
The site is accessible to public utilities such as electric, water, and telecommunications. Sanitary service requires a new septic system.
