About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding drawings for an electric vehicle charging station project at a West Virginia campus. The project involves installing feeders from an existing electrical panel at Leopold Lodge to service equipment at parking lots for Blue and Green lots. Clarification is provided that cellular service verification is required to determine if spare conduit is needed for a communications path, and wiring sizes and routing from the building to disconnects and transformers are specified. Pricing should separate work for Blue and Green lots, with the outdoor equipment priced into Green lot. Approximate distances are provided and field verification recommended. References to other lots not part of the project can be ignored.

Questions & Answers
DRAWING E1.1:
Question A: Detail 1 shows the main feeder from Leopold Lodge to HHB(2) then the feeders go to the left toward the BLUE LOT. When you look at Detail 2, it appears the main feeder should go from Leopold Lodge through HHB(3) to a new spot of Horizontal Directional Drilling (under the entrance into the GREEN LOT) and over to HHB(1) where it then goes to the disconnect switch, etc. There should also be a third location for HDD (under the GREEN LOT entrance).
Answer A: Drawing conversion error. Missing information in E1.1 Detail 1 is detailed in E1.1 Detail 2.
Feed is to transformer (at Green Lot before it heads to Blue Lot.
Question B: Detail 2 shows (1) 2” RGS CONDUIT W/ 4#1/0, 1#6 TO DISCONNECT. When this feeder gets past HHB(3), the line is marked (1) 2-1/2”C W/ 3#4/0 AND 1#2 GROUND & (1) 2-1/2” SPARE. Does the job really require that the (1) 2-1/2” SPARE go back to the Leopold Lodge? Why is the feeder size changing once it gets past HHB(3)?
Answer B: Spare conduit was to be provided for a communications path if cellular service is inadequate. Cellular service strength is to be verified. If cellular service is adequate, provide 1ea 2.5” conduit from building to Green Lot transformer. If cellular service is inadequate, provide spare 2” conduit for communications path. Provide 4ea #4/0 and 1ea #1/0 from building to disconnect, and from disconnect to transformer. After the transformer, wiring per NEC.
Question C. The pricing is to be broken into BLUE LOT and GREEN LOT but where does all the work in and from Leopold Lodge and the whole way to the outdoor service equipment go in regards to pricing since this work is the main feed that ends up serving both lots?
Answer C: Price outdoor service equipment into Green Lot price.
Question D: Please provide a distance from the outside of the Leopold Lodge where our conduit (or conduits if the spare goes the whole way per item B above) to the existing electrical panel that we have to tie into?
Answer D: Approximately 650’, scaled off the drawings. Field verification of all measurements was recommended at the site visit. Spare is not needed.
DRAWING E0.2:
Question E: Detail for mounting pedestal for panel SS EV-2 - please clarify if this panel is part of this project as it is not shown anywhere else on the drawings. New panel EV BG which is shown on drawing E1.1 is to be mounted inside the electrical panelboard enclosure on the transformer pad which looks to be the only panelboard needed for this project.
Answer E: SS EV-2 detail can be ignored. Project is for Blue and Green Lots only
DRAWING E0.3:
Question F: Detail CPG pad with grounding references a 30 KVA dry type transformer grey and orange lot. Please clarify that this transformer/work part of the grey and orange lot is not part of this project.
Answer F: Any reference to other than Blue and Green lots is to be ignored. Project is for Blue and Green Lots only.
