About this file

This document contains questions asked during a site visit walkthrough and subsequent email amendment for a design-build federal contract opportunity. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking a contractor to complete the design and construction of a new visitors center and headquarters building at the Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge in California within 540 days of receiving a notice to proceed. The solicitation requires a 20% bid bond and 100% performance and payment bonds. It does not specify pricing terms or a response due date. Geotechnical analysis of the site has already been conducted by the engineering firm that assisted with initial design phases. Records of any asbestos or hazardous materials testing on the existing building are not available but the structure is believed to contain no asbestos or lead paint.
