The response due date for the solicitation is extended to May 10, 2021 at 7:00 PM local time. The amendment provides responses to contractor questions about water depths, existing riprap, geotechnical reports, bridge weight limits, and allows the use of alternate grating supports. An attached geotechnical report contains subsurface information for the project site.

Solicitation Amendment

Document 140F0621R0012-0004

Document Title Rehab Water Control Structures, Bear River Migratory Bird

Refuge Utah

A. The purpose of this amendment is to respond to contractor questions, provide the attached Geo- Technical report and extend the proposal due date.

B. The following contractor questions and Government response are provided for consideration:

Contractor Question 1: What is the current depth of the water for both structures – particularly the area in yellow that is referenced drawing?

Government Response: 19 inches in the structure but only 3 inches outside of the structure. The structures were placed 18 inches below the existing ground level.

Contractor Question 2: Currently, is there existing RipRap or some riprap in the areas where we are placing riprap?

Government Response: Yes, there may be some riprap within the areas where new riprap will be installed. This riprap can be salvaged and used as riprap following the installation of the bedding material.

Contractor Question 3: Do you have a geotechnical report of the existing bed material where the riprap is going?

Government Response Yes, there is a geotechnical data report attached here.

Contractor Question 4: What is the weight restrictions of the two bridges/bridges that provide access to the site?

Government Response The bridges at Unit 5C and Unit 5 Drain (WCS 64 and 65) have HS 20- 44 Load Ratings.

Contractor Question 5: Drawing S-10 Grating support diagram B calls for a 4 x 2 -1/2” tube steel support for the grating. Would it be possible to change this to a 4x3” tube steel support and drop the imbed down a half inch or use a 6 x 4 imbed angle? The cost and availability of the 4x2- 1/2 is in high demand and by using a 4x3 it would allow for an easier attachment for the toe kick plate.

Government Response Use of 4x3” HSS tube in lieu of 4x2.5” HSS is acceptable as long as bottom of HSS tube can be held above the max gate elevation at both WCS locations.

Contractor Question 6: Are we to provide the bid bond electronically too?

Government Response: Yes, provide a scanned copy with your proposal and mail the paper copy to the Lakewood location, cited on the SF 1442, Contracting, 134 Union Blvd, Lake Plaza North, Lakewood CO 80228.

C. The response due date and time is extended Monday, 10 May 2021, 1900 hours local time. Please provide acknowledgement of this amendment.

D. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
