Amend 2 Attach 2 Solicitation 140F0221R0018 Questions and Answers to date August 25, 2021

Bidder Question Responses:

1. There are two proposed 1500 gal. septic tanks. The plan mentions anti-flotation measures, there are no anti flotation measures listed. i.e. collared based, concrete ballast, straps or stone for either tank. Please specify the anti-flotation measures.

Response: The contractor shall provide buoyancy calculations during the submittal process based on the selected precast concrete structures (for septic tanks and pump station vault) and provide ballast or other measures if required. Various methods will be considered including extended base slabs, concrete grade beams with hold down straps, or other conventional approaches. Observed groundwater depths are indicated in the project geotechnical report.

2. Plan calls for H-20 loading on the septic tanks and 3’ aluminum hatches. There is no detail for the hatches, please provide.

Response: Provide an aluminum hatch for the pump station structure only, basis of design product is ALN Series by East Jordan Iron Works, Model H36361001 or equal.

Final size of opening shall be configured with pump station rails to allow for removal of pumps straight through opening. Septic tank structure openings shall be typical manhole frame and solid covers flush with grade.

3. Plan calls for 8’ diameter by 8’ deep dosing station with two pumps, and a third being provided as a spare. There is no detail for the precast pit, there is no detail for pump bases or slide rail system, and there is no detail for the pump controls to alternate pump priority. Also, there is no detail for tying both pumps into single manifold. (We assume the gate valve controlling the head pressure is to be installed singularly not individually) Please advise with details.

Response: Refer to detail A/C507. Provide coordinated submittal for pump station interior components including stainless steel guide rail system, internal PVC force main piping connected to a single outlet with single PVC valve. Controls shall be contained in a NEMA 4 enclosure on an aluminum “A-frame” adjacent to pump station. Refer to specification section 33 34 00 for additional information.

4. The Furniture Systems specs calls for HON as the Basis of Design, and also states that

"Requests for substitutions will be considered in accordance with provisions of Section 01 60 00 - Product Requirements." However, section 01 60 00 is not in the specs currently. Please advise.

Response: Reference to section 01 60 00 is removed from the specification. Refer to the applicable contract provisions for substitution procedures.

SRP-25.

7. We are looking to quite the Furniture package for this project, however, the drawing and the specifications do not provide the full sizes of the standard stations and office layouts. The links provided on the drawings are just topicals but don’t provide enough detail to price it appropriately. Can someone provide the overall sizes of each station and office types as well?

Response: A full parts list is provided in the specifications with dimensions available for each component through the manufacturer’s website. In general, minor deviations to dimensions will be acceptable provided they do not impact egress pathways or other code compliance requirements.

8. Drawing E-604 one line diagram shows a new 50 KW, 120/240V single phase propane fueled generator with a 500A output circuit breaker. A 50 KW generator at 120/240V single phase only has a full output of 221 amps. Therefore, we cannot place a 500A circuit breaker per code please confirm if a 225A circuit breaker will be acceptable instead to put on generator which is better sized to the output?

Response: Please provide 300 amp 2-pole breaker at the generator.

9. Drawing E-604 please confirm the required amperage of the automatic transfer switch shown.

Response: Automatic Transfer Switch shall be 600 amp, 12/240 volt, 2-pole, solid neutral.
