About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document (Q&A #1) issued on April 16, 2026, for federal contract 140D0426Q0292 that addresses clarifications regarding an HVAC unit replacement project.

The document resolves several key technical and specification questions raised by prospective contractors. Regarding the HVAC unit capacity discrepancy between the 7-ton specification in the Statement of Work and the 5-ton label on the existing unit, the Government directed contractors to reference Amendment 0001 to the SOW for the corrected specifications. On accessories, the Government confirmed that standard manufacture hail guards are acceptable, dampers should match the existing unit's configuration, and smoke detectors must comply with applicable codes and standards referenced in the SOW. The document clarifies that the HVAC unit services the Rosemary Ellison Gallery only. For humidification requirements and winter season humidification needs, the Government again directed contractors to Amendment 0001 for updated SOW specifications. This Q&A document does not contain pricing, response dates, award dates, or other formal contract administrative terms—it serves solely to clarify technical and operational requirements for the solicitation.

140D0426Q0292 Questions and Answers #1 4/16/2026

Question: Regarding the HVAC unit, the SOW indicates need for a 7 ton unit, but the label says it is 5 tons.

- Can you confirm the correct existing unit capacity?

- Should the replacement unit match the existing tonnage?

- There is a concern that 7 ton units do not come in single phase, so there are electrical issues and space concerns.

Answer:

See Amendment 0001 which updated Attachment 1 Statement of Work.

Question: The SOW does not explicitly identify required accessories (e.g. hail guards, smoke detectors, motorized/manual dampers, etc). Are there any specific accessories that are required by the Government beyond standard code-compliant installation?
