About this file
This is a specifications document from the Bureau of Indian Affairs Southwestern Regional Office for mobile weather stations designed for evapotranspiration (ET) measurements, dated July 27, 2026.
The required equipment is a research-grade mobile weather station system, preferably Campbell ET107 or similar, mounted on a tripod capable of heights up to 10 feet (3 meters). The system must include a precipitation/rain gauge, temperature gauge, humidity sensor, wind speed and direction gauge, solar radiation sensor, and a data logger with automatic evapotranspiration calculation capability using the Penman-Monteith method. All required mounting, calibration, and power kits must be included. The data logger specification calls for a Campbell CR1000M or similar unit with 4 MB serial flash memory, 2 MB flash or greater storage, 16 single-ended or 8 differential analog input channels, 100 ms to 1 day program execution capability, 1 ms resolution, and ±3 minutes per year accuracy. The tipping bucket rain gauge must be Texas Electronics TE525-5m or similar with 135 ms or faster closure time, 0.75 ms bounce settling time, and 1 tip resolution. Supporting sensors include a Campbell CS305-ET solar radiation sensor (300-1100 nm spectral range, 0-2000 W/m² measurement range), Campbell HMP60-ETS humidity and temperature sensors (-40 to 60°C range, ±0.6°C temperature accuracy, ±3-5% humidity accuracy), and Campbell MW 034B-ET wind speed and direction gauge (0-75 m/s range, ±0.1 m/s or ±1.1% accuracy, ±5° directional accuracy). All sensors must be compatible with the data logger and mounting tripod, with all required mounting kits and power sources included.
