About this file

Amendment 01 is a document addressing questions and answers for Solicitation 1333ND25QNB680212 issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Boulder Microfabrication Facility. The amendment clarifies two key points regarding the Spin Rinser Dryer (SRD) refurbishment and acquisition project: first, vendors are not required to supply cassettes as originally stated in the Statement of Work (SOW), and second, vendors can submit separate quotes for standard controllers and touchscreen PLC systems, with touchscreen quantities adjusted to 8 units (covering both chambers) instead of the original 16.

The solicitation involves refurbishing six existing spin rinser dryers and acquiring two additional new units. The project is being conducted by the Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology, with the solicitation dated July 24, 2025. The amendment demonstrates NIST's willingness to clarify technical specifications and provide flexibility to potential bidders, which could potentially increase competition and vendor participation in the procurement process.

Amendment 01: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation 1333ND25QNB680212 SRDs Questions and Answers July 24, 2025 The purpose of this amendment is to provide a consolidated list of responses to all questions received in response to this solicitation. See below for all Q and A’s:

Q1. SOW Section 2, c, i, 15, c and Section 2, c, ii, 15, c of the SOW states, "Each chamber shall include the appropriate rotor and cassette." Does NIST really need us to supply the cassettes? We always provide the rotor, however typically the customer provides the cassettes.

A1. No, you do not need to supply the cassettes. The SOW has been revised accordingly at Section 2, c, i, 15, c and Section 2, c, ii, 15, c to remove the requirement to supply cassettes.

Q2. SOW Section 2, c, iv: calls for (qty 16) Touchscreen upgrades. Our Touchscreen PLC is a single touchscreen that covers both chambers, so we would only have to quote qty 8. We think it would be better to issue two different quotes; one quote for the standard controllers, and a separate quote for all of the systems with the Touchscreen PLC. Would that be acceptable?

A2. Yes, that is acceptable.
