About this file

This is a Statement of Work appendix detailing five steel storage structures scheduled for removal from the NOAA Inouye Regional Center on Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The structures consist of four former hazmat storage sheds and one 10-foot Conex container, all government property requiring removal and recycling or disposal services.

The four hazmat sheds vary in specifications: Shed #1 measures 16'1" × 9'3" × 8'8" high and is not bolted to concrete; Shed #2 (Chem-Stor model, 2010) measures 14'6" × 8'6" × 9' high and is bolted to the pad with 240v power requiring disconnection; Sheds #3 and #4 (Chem-Stor models, 2003) each measure 16'6" × 9'6" × 9' high, are 4-hour fire-rated, weigh approximately 18,000 pounds each, are bolted to concrete pads, and have 240v power requiring disconnection. Shed #4 additionally contains roof-mounted solar panels and interior equipment requiring NOAA removal prior to contractor haul-away. The 10-foot Conex (2017) measures 10' × 8' × 8'6" high and includes electrical components with a breaker box and disconnect box. All structures are equipped with wall-mounted air conditioning units; NOAA will remove automatic fire suppression systems, pressurized gas cylinders, bolt nuts, electrical components, solar equipment, and potentially counter tops and sink basins prior to contractor removal. The contractor will subsequently relocate at least one new 20-foot Conex into the footprints of Sheds #3 and #4 as part of anticipated Phase 2 operations.
