About this file
This document is a Requests for Information (RFIs) log for RFQ Number 1305M326Q0175 for the Manchester 80-ton Chiller project. Six inquiries were submitted by prospective contractors between May 1-8, 2026, with responses provided by the client/SME on May 11-12, 2026, and distributed to contractors on May 14, 2026.
The RFIs addressed critical clarifications regarding bond requirements, equipment specifications, and installation scope. RFI 1 resolved a discrepancy between solicitation sections regarding performance and payment bond requirements, confirming that both bonds are required after contract award in addition to a bid bond at quote submission. RFIs 2-4 requested supporting documentation for the Century Data chiller unit, including the nameplate image, glycol connection details (2" supply, 3" return piping), and electrical service area photographs, with the client directing inquirers to Attachment 5 for all requested images. RFI 5 addressed technical discrepancies in the Trane Model CGAM datasheet, resulting in the client revising Section 3.1.3 to clarify required performance and nominal capacity under site operating conditions, removing Figure 4 to eliminate conflicting requirements, and renumbering subsequent figures accordingly. RFI 6 clarified the installation scope, confirming that only the new chiller unit will be installed in the existing location, with the contractor responsible for determining whether the existing supply pump and plumbing meet new chiller requirements and replacing them if necessary.

Line item 12a states that there is no performance bond or payment bond required. Scrolling down to page 3 of 45 Item no. 0001 line item 6.) states that both a performance and payment bond will be required after award of contract. I assume the bond will be required for this project. Can the solicitation be corrected to modify the inaccuracy one way or the other?
N/A
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Yes, this project requires both payment and performance bonds after award, in addition to the bid bond at the time you submit your quote.

On the Century Data on figure 2, is that a copy of picture of the data plate on the unit? The reason for the question, as we check to be sure everything matches, is that number is not in our Century catalog nor can I find any equipment associated with that specific model # online.
11-May-26 Yes. Please view Attachment 5 for nameplate image. 12-May-26 14-May-26
3 8-May-26 Could we get an additional picture or pictures of the glycol connections at the existing unit? And line sizes for supply and return.
11-May-26 Piping is 2" supply, 3" return. Please view Attachment 5 for image of connections.

4 8-May-26 Can we get a picture between the electrical service and the Century Unit?
11-May-26 Please view Attachment 5 for image of the area in question.

Trane notice a couple discrepancies in the supplied data. The data sheet on the first Figure 5, Trane Model CGAM, doesn’t match the criteria in 3.1.1.5 & 3.1.2.1.
They are going to match that criteria and not the data sheet. However, I am not sure if it makes a difference, other than unit rating, as historical data for Port Orchard, WA has never exceeded 80 F as a high ambient temperature. Will most likely give more refrigeration capacity.

Revised Section 3.1.3 to clarify the required performance and nominal capacity of the 80-ton chiller under the site operating conditions.
Removed Figure 4 to avoid conflicting requirements and potential confusion. The specified performance and capacity criteria are more critical than the representative model shown in Figure 4.
Renumbered the figures accordingly; former Figure 5 is now Figure 4.

All other associated equipment will be reused, only a new chiller unit in same location as existing and connecting to existing piping next to existing chiller, correct?
11-May-26 The contractor must determine if the existing supply pump and plumbing meet the new chiller requirements and replace if necessary.
