About this file

This file contains standardized bond templates for the City of Amarillo, Texas, applicable to the Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport's Flight Information Display System replacement project. The document provides three distinct bond forms required for general contracts: a Maintenance Bond, a Payment Bond, and a Performance Bond. The Maintenance Bond requires the principal contractor to guarantee work against defects in materials or workmanship for a specified period following acceptance, with the surety obligated to perform corrections within thirty calendar days of written notification or reimburse the obligee for correction costs, including engineering and legal expenses. The Payment Bond ensures that all claimants supplying labor and material to the principal or subcontractors receive payment pursuant to Chapter 2253 of the Texas Government Code. The Performance Bond guarantees faithful performance of work in accordance with plans, specifications, and contract documents, also governed by Texas Government Code Chapter 2253. All bonds are executed jointly and severally by the principal and surety, with exclusive venue in Potter County, Texas.

The bond templates contain blank fields for completion with specific contract information, including the principal's name, surety corporation details, bond amounts, contract dates, and project descriptions. The documents note that bonds should not be dated at the time of initial preparation. Each bond form requires execution by authorized representatives of both the principal contractor and surety corporation, with corporate seals affixed. The bonds establish liability frameworks aligned with Texas Government Code provisions and specify that the surety's obligations are triggered upon the principal's failure to perform required duties, including payment obligations to subcontractors and material suppliers, correction of defective work, and overall contract performance.
