Mechanical IDIQ Solicitation-129AC720Q0050 Questions and Answers as of 4/21/2020

1. Can personnel specified in Section 18 of the solicitation be dual-hatted? For example, can the on-site representative also be the work foreman? Can the quality inspection also serve as an equipment operator or laborer when not involved in quality inspections?

Yes, if they are qualified and have the experience to conduct both

2. What are the minimum equipment requirements, if any, related to horsepower, type of masticating attachments, cutting widths?

Must be capable to meet requirements of masticated piece size and size of material to be masticated.

3. Can the government provide a description of “crushing brush” and provide an example of the type of equipment needed?

Pictures below demonstrate what the crushed brush looks like after treatment; one picture shows a string of the brush prior to treatment. This link describes different types of equipment.

4. Is work permitted on weekends?

It will depend on the Task Order as some NEPA requirements restrict operations on weekends.

5. Is there a maximum ground pressure rating for tracked equipment?

No. But compaction will be monitored and if damage to the soils is evident, work may be stopped.
