About this file

This document includes an amendment to a request for proposals for renovations at a USDA research facility in Wenatchee, Washington. The amendment provides responses to contractor questions regarding the scope of work. Renovations include replacing light fixtures throughout buildings 005 and 006 with LED fixtures, except in rooms 107 and 108 of building 005. All roof panels are to be replaced as indicated in the contract drawings. A new greenhouse is outside the scope of this project. Vaccination requirements for contractors will follow CDC COVID-19 guidelines for Chelan County, requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test if the risk level is medium or high. The estimated budget for renovations to greenhouse 006 and buildings 005 and 010 is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 to be awarded on a firm-fixed price basis.

RFP 12905B22R0003 – Renovate Greenhous/Bldgs at Wenatchee WA.

AMENDMENT 0002

Questions/Responses #1

B005 – Please clarify what and where the intended “Remove and replace lighting throughout facility with new led fixtures” as stated in the SOW, as half appear (via the site visit) to have been replaced or new.

The same is requested for the remaining Remove and replace statement, please clarify what areas are to be removed and replaced.

A: Removal and replacement of light fixtures is no longer needed in rooms 107 and 108 of B005. For all other areas, removal and replacement of light fixtures remains as presented in the drawings.

B006 – Please confirm the whole of the east side roof panel system is to be replaced as the site visit revealed panels have been or are in the process of replacement.

A: No formal roof replacement is currently in progress. Roof panels are to be replaced as presented in the drawings.

Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Report- As noted in the ESAR, is it the intention of this project to include the “new greenhouse”? Although noted in the specifications, the plan set/drawings do not reflect a “new” building site.

A: The project at hand does not include the construction of a new greenhouse; construction of a new greenhouse will be an entirely separate project.

Vaccination Requirements – Is there a requirement for the GC and Sub Contractors to be vaccinated?

A: Per current policy, when the CDC COVID-19 Community Level for Chelan County is designated as LOW, contractors (general and subs) are not required to attest as to their vaccination status, nor are they required to provide proof of a negative COVID test. When the Community Level for Chelan County is designated as MEDIUM or HIGH, contractors must attest as to their vaccination status, and any individual who is other than “fully vaccinated” must provide proof of a negative COVID test from within the last three days.
