Question 1: Once the bridge has been picked up from your facility and brought to the new location, we are not sure if we will need to hire a bridge erector to assemble the bridge with the hardware metal plates and all the parts specified in the documents, note, we are a dirt moving company, not a bridge or metal erectors. After looking at all the hardware involved and specification to put the bridge together this task may be better suited for

1282B123R0004/0001 some company that puts bridges together. We are more than capable of install the concrete eco blocks and hauling in materials, grading out for drainage and erosion control. Should we get a price for someone else to put the bridge together and use that in our bid or is the USFS going to contract that portion out. Can we even use subcontractors? If so, what kind of paperwork/licenses/requirements must they have?

Answer 1: Attached is a basic installation guide

("Sheep Creek Bridge Attachment") that is available from Contech (they purchased Big R). If this is beyond what you have the capabilities to construct or would rather not deal with it, the

Government recommends contacting Contech and asking if they have a list of subs that specialize in putting their bridges together.

This also answers the question on subs;

contractors are allowed to utilize subcontractors. Subcontractors must have the licenses and certifications necessary to perform the work that is required by the specific task order.
