WASTEWATER DIVISION

PRODUCT ADVANTAGES

• Pressure compensation - all drippers deliver equal flow, even on sloped or rolling terrain.

• Unique flow path - Turbonet technology provides more control of water and a high resistance to clogging.

• Continuous self-flushing dripper design - flushes debris, as it is detected - throughout operation, not just at the beginning or end of a cycle. Ensures uninterrupted dripper operation.

• Single hole dripper outlet from tubing:

- Better protection against root intrusion

- Allows the dripline to be used in subsurface applications without need for chemical protection

• Drippers capture water flow from the center of the tubing - ensures that only the cleanest flow enters the dripper.

• Built-in physical root barrier - drippers are protected from root intrusion without the need for chemical protection. Water exits dripper in one location while exiting the tubing in another.

• Three dripper flow rates - provides the broadest range of flow rates available. Allows the designer to match the dripline to any soil or slope condition.

• Bioline tubing is completely wrapped in purple - easily identifying it for non-potable use, regardless of how the tubing is installed.

• Anti-bacterial-impregnated drippers - prevents buildup of microbial slime.

• Can be used subsurface - Bioline can be installed on-surface, under cover or subsurface.

• No special storage requirements - does not degrade if stored outdoors.

APPLICATIONS

• Typically installed following a treatment process

• Can be used with domestic septic tank effluent with proper design, filtration and operation

• Reuse applications including municipally treated effluent designated for irrigation and other disinfected and non-disinfected water sources.

SPECIFICATIONS

• Dripper flow rates: 0.4, 0.6 or 0.9 GPH

• Dripper spacings: 12”, 18” or 24” dripper spacings and blank tubing

• Pressure compensation range: 7 to 58 psi

• Maximum recommended system pressure:

58 psi

• Tubing diameter: 0.66” OD, 0.56” ID

• Tubing color: Purple color indicates non-potable

• Coil lengths: 500’ or 1,000’ (Blank tubing in

250’)

• Recommended filtration: 120 mesh

• Bending radius: 7”

• UV resistant

• Tubing material: Linear low-density polyethylene

Additional spacing and pipe sizes available by special order. Please contact Netafim USA Customer Service for details.

ADDITIONAL FLOW OF 1.6 GPM REQUIRED PER LATERAL TO ACHIEVE 2.0 fps

Lateral lengths are based on flows allowing for a 2 fps flushing/scouring velocity

Netafim recommends flushing velocities capable of breaking free any accumulated bioslimes and debris in the piping network.

Notes: 1. Refer to local regulations for information on flushing velocities that may be written into codes.

2. Netafim does not endorse a specific flushing velocity.

3. Flushing velocities should be determined based on regulations, quality of effluent, and type of flushing control.

4. Using a flushing velocity less than 1 fps does not provide turbulent flow as defined by Reynolds Number.

5. Higher flushing velocities provide more aggressive flushing.

BIOLINE DRIPPER OPERATION

Bioline® drippers are pressure compensating - delivering the water uniformly into the soil for further treatment or for reuse by the landscape. These unique drippers allow the tubing to be installed on flat topography or steep slopes.

Bioline drippers are protected against microbial slime.

Each dripper is impregnated with an antimicrobial agent to resist biological build-up.

Netafim drippers are continuously self-cleaning during operation, not just at the beginning and end of a cycle. The result is dependable, clog-free operation, year after year.

STATEMENT JANUARY 2015

NETAFIM USA TUBING

MATERIALS AND RESOURCE CREDIT 4: RECYCLED CONTENT

WHAT IS LEED®:

The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) has been instrumental in the concept of creating a means to evaluate environmentally friendly (Green) buildings through a comprehensive series of Credit Points. The rating system is "Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design" commonly referred to as LEED. Information can be found at www.usgbc.org.

We wish to stress that LEED Credit Points are awarded to the building, not individual components or products. The components or products help in achieving points for the building, but are not rated by themselves. USGBC very explicitly "does not certify, endorse or promote products".

For this document, we are using the most up-to-date terminology and credit codes of LEED 2009.

NETAFIM USA PRODUCT CONTRIBUTION:

Netafim USA is a privately owned company located in Fresno, California which was established in 1981. Netafim USA is the leading manufacturer of drip and micro irrigation products that service Landscape, Agricultural, Greenhouse and Nursery, Wastewater, and Mining markets with solutions for water management and control for the various applications unique to each market.

Our products contribute to earning LEED points in the "Materials and Resources" MR Credit 4 "RECYCLED CONTENT" category. The intent is to increase demand for building products that incorporate recycled content materials, thereby reducing impacts resulting from extraction and processing of virgin materials. All products manufactured with recycled content meet our strict quality standards and provide the same high performance and long-life reliability.

This credit awards 1 point for a total recycled content (post-consumer + 1/2 pre-consumer) of 10% or 2 points for a total recycled content (post-consumer + 1/2 pre-consumer) of 20%. Points are based on weight then are multiplied by the cost of the assembly. As a manufacturer, the final cost of the assembly is not within our control; therefore our figures will be based on percentage by weight only.

Netafim USA’s Techline® , Techline® CV, Techline® RW and Techline® EZ and Polyethylene (PE) tubing product lines support qualification for earning 2 points in the LEED MR Credit 4 category. These product lines are produced with at least 20% recycled content that is comprised of a minimum of 5% post-consumer and 30% pre-consumer content.

Furthermore, Netafim USA owns and operates a polyethylene recycling plant in Fowler, California. Netafim Recycling collects and recycles plastic irrigation tubing primarily from agricultural installations in California. The used tubing is recycled to produce a recycled resin that is used in mining and landscape drip tubing applications. Netafim Recycling is a wholly owned subsidiary of Netafim USA of Fresno, California. It is through the process of collecting and re-manufacturing polyethylene drip tubing that Netafim USA is able to assure the highest quality of products and help customers qualify for credit toward LEED certification.
