Industry Questions with Answers:
1. In executing this project, can one superintendent fulfill the supervision, safety, and QA/QC roles?
A: Yes
2. Are contractors required to issue a contract specific QA/QC Plan?
A: No, contractor can submit company standard QA/QC plan in lieu of contract specific.
3. Are contractors required to issue a contract specific Safety Plan?
4. Is this project tax exempt?
5. Can we use one lighting representatives for all lights instead of going out to all the different lighting representatives? This approach will be more cost effective.
A: Yes. The fixture codes supplied are as a basis of design. Equal from a different manufacturer is acceptable.
6. Room 9050 has three fixtures without fixture ID. I believe they are V1 fixtures but would like clarification. Please advise.
A: That is correct.
7. For the M1 Fixture, some floors show it as one fixture and some show it as two fixtures. Can we get a little more clarification?
A: The M1 fixtures shown on the plans are intended to be a single Red/White Dark Room Safelight as indicated on E-600. In addition, the fixtures K1 and M1 were transposed on Sheet E-600. See attached E-600r1.pdf. The associated plans and lighting schedule are correct.
8. Are the schedule fixtures Buy American Act (BAA) compliant? If not are there alternatives?
A: The Government has checked for BAA compliance on the schedule items and found the following alternatives on items that the cut sheet no longer states whether they are compliant. Contractor should check compliance on their proposed items.
o C8 – The cut sheet no longer has BAA compliance included. Gotham (also under the Acuity brand) Incito ICO4UDWC is a BAA compliant alternate meeting specified requirements.
o F1 – The cut sheet no longer has BAA compliance included. MaxLite LM8-LA- F-BN-34-8-27 is a BAA compliant alternate meeting specified requirements.
