About this file

This file is a sustainable products list for the Trabuco Janitorial Services acquisition, establishing procurement requirements and guidelines for environmentally responsible contracting.

The document identifies three categories of sustainable products that contractors must consider: bio-based products, energy-efficient products, and EPA-designated items containing recovered materials. For bio-based products, program officials must conduct market research to determine availability and cost when developing statements of work or performance-based work statements that include these products. Energy-efficient products must comply with FAR 52.223-15, requiring contractors to ensure energy-consuming products are ENERGY STAR® or FEMP-designated products at contract award for delivered items, products acquired for use at federally-controlled facilities, products furnished to the Government, or products specified in building designs and construction. EPA-designated items must comply with FAR 52.223-17, mandating contractors make maximum use of products containing recovered materials unless such products cannot be acquired competitively within required timeframes, do not meet performance requirements, or are not available at reasonable prices. Product categories include construction, landscaping, vehicular, transportation, park and recreation, paper, non-paper, and miscellaneous items. The document provides a table listing ten specific janitorial products—including all-purpose cleaner, window-glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, disinfectant sanitizer, liquid hand soap, furniture polish, wood floor cleaner, neutral pH floor cleaner, and lime and scale remover—designated as bio-based products and EPA-designated items.
