About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) Log for USDA AMS Cotton Classing Office Renovations (Solicitation No. 12639526Q0118) located at 3545 Twin River Boulevard, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410. The RFI log documents seven clarifications requested during the May 5, 2026 site visit addressing scope ambiguities and technical requirements. Key outstanding issues include confirmation of revised scope items (tile flooring retention, acoustic sliding door omission, and reception area wall layout modifications), reception area partition framing specifications and dimensions, electrical circuit requirements including panel location and capacity verification, telecommunications pathway routing and termination points, asbestos testing documentation for existing flooring materials, and occupied facility coordination requirements including work hour restrictions and laydown areas.

The log reveals critical gaps in project definition affecting contractor pricing and scheduling decisions. Contractors require clarification on whether new electrical home runs are mandatory or existing circuits may be utilized, whether the Government will provide existing floor plans for as-built documentation or contractors must independently develop them, telecom conduit requirements and routing options (above ceiling, in-wall, or surface-mounted), and whether work must occur during normal business hours or after-hours. The Government confirmed that work areas must remain accessible during construction, dust partitions are required, no after-hours work is mandated, and contractor laydown and dumpster staging areas are available at the building's rear or by coordination with building staff. No as-built plans currently exist, creating uncertainty regarding schematic accuracy and closeout documentation requirements.
