Solicitation Questions and Answers

1. In the Attachment 2 it states: 300 tons of whole corn (dry, mold-free, in 50 lb. poly bags, on pallets and shrink wrapped) delivered, throughout a one year period. This would be 600,000 lbs., but in the Attachment 1 it states the need is: Estimated annual need for all locations combined is 1200 bags (50-lbs each), which is only 60,000 lbs. Please let us know if the need is 60,000 or 600,000 lbs.

612,000 lbs. total – The first umbrella order would be for 12,240 of the 50# bags, delivered as-needed

2. Is there any expected order quantities or frequency for deliveries to the 4 locations?

Quantity and frequency of deliveries are variable based on local need. We will take delivery on an as-needed basis, and provide 1 week notice to vendor. Vendor shall provide at least 48 hours’ notice before delivery in order to receive the shipments properly. No Friday delivery.

3. Is there any history to go off of, or is this a new program?

This is not a new program. We took deliveries at two locations approximately every three weeks last year, but this was not a good solution, so we have added 5 locations to aid in our distribution.

4. We want to provide the best price possible, so it will be important to know if we can expect weekly or monthly deliveries and approximately how many pallets each location can or will take at a time.

Once we start requiring deliveries we will call to order on an as needed basis, and provide one week notice to vendor. Vendor shall provide at least 48 hours’ notice before delivery in order to receive the shipments. No Friday delivery.

5. Are there any more details or specifications regarding the corn other than whole dry corn, mold free, 50lb poly bags palletized and wrapped? Does the corn have to be any particular grade or be certified in any way?

The bags shall be fifty (50) pound sealed woven plastic “poly” bags. Pallets must be side and top wrapped. No More than 40 bags per pallet or 1 ton per pallet. The load must be wrapped in such a way as to prevent shifting during transport and storage. Deliveries will be made to field locations, so pallets must be good solid quality to allow unloading by loader bucket and chains or straps as well as by fork lift.

The Corn needs to be Dry (less than 15% moisture) 98% or more clean, whole dent corn (by volume per bag) free of mold not burned or damaged and suitable as animal feed.

6. Is there an anticipated start date for the deliveries?

Late Spring - Summer 2020.
