Question and Answer for Solicitation # 12505B24Q0289

Q: Are all the buildings on the same campus or is there miles between them?

A: Yes, All the Buildings are on the same campus/complex connected by hard surface roadways all within a 2-mile range

Q: I understand that NCAH will perform respirator training and fit testing, will we be able to purchase the equipment from them? Or does this need to be done prior to?

A: NCAH will have vendor personnel complete vendor training on the respirator apparatus followed by fit test for the apparatus. The apparatus (Respirator-Full Face N95 or Powered Air Purifier also known as a PAPR) will be provided by NCAH for use by the vendor to perform hoist crane inspection typically only required Bldg. 9.

Q: Can we send 2 technicians to perform the inspections? That would require NCAH to have enough adequate scissor lifts or boom lifts for both techs. We must be able to get to the top of cranes/hoists.

A: Yes, we have adequate scissors lifts ladders and booms to access cranes and hoist. The two vendor technicians will need work together in the same building where one NCAH personnel can provide escort for both Vendors technicians.

Q: Will all slings be in a central location in each building?

A: Yes: We have most of the slings in a general location in each building.

Q: The solicitation says there are approximately 85 overhead hoists, 130 slings, and 20 rolling gantry cranes. However, looking at the inventory list, I am only counting 85 overhead hoists and 50 slings. Can you please provide clarification on how many units should be quoted and provide information on any additional units not listed on the inventory?

A: In the past we have inspected approximately 85 Overhead hoist/cranes. The number of slings is correctly stated at around 130. The slings vary slightly in numbers each year but for this purpose of this contract 130 is good solid reference number based on historical data. The rolling gantry cranes are typically around 2,000 lbs. weight limit and are equipped with a 2,000 lbs. (1-ton) manual chain fall. These can be inspected as one unit or separately. There are approximately 20 of these combinations.
