About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) document containing vendor questions and government responses related to HVAC repair and replacement work at two White Mountain National Forest ranger stations in New Hampshire.

Androscoggin Ranger Station (Gorham, NH): The scope includes full replacement of four exterior air conditioning units with new pads, disconnects, and refrigerant line sets; installation of a new air handler in limited mechanical room space; reuse of existing ductwork unless field modifications are necessary; reuse of compatible condensate piping; replacement of corroded plumbing at boiler connection points only; verification that current electrical service is adequate for replacement equipment; and retention of existing controls and thermostats. No Building Automation System exists at this facility. The government confirmed that existing electrical service and panel capacity are adequate and that all work must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, though federal jurisdiction applies.

Saco Ranger Station (Conway, NH): The scope includes replacement of a Rheem RHERGEDYB120ACG22BAA unit (or approved equivalent) with determination needed regarding curb adapter requirements; reuse of existing condensate piping; verification that existing electrical service and disconnect are adequate; integration of new equipment with existing controls without upgrades required; and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The government estimated the project magnitude at under $150,000. Both projects are covered under solicitation 12445526Q0006, a Total Small Business Set-Aside with a $19 Million size standard, issued by the USDA Forest Service under NAICS 238220. Site visits were scheduled for February 18-19, 2026, with contact information provided for the Contracting Officer Representative.
