NRS‐16 Greenhouse Glazing and Controls 12445522Q0163

Questions and Answers as of 8‐23‐2022

Q1. There are no specifications for the 8MM Polycarbonate for the reglazing portion of the project. There are several grades of polycarbonate and with no specifications I am concerned that some might quote the least quality material to be awarded the project.

A1. 8mm double wall polycarbonate glazing with UV coating, 78% light transmission or higher, minimum 10 warranty against loss of light transmission, diffuse light panels are acceptable but not required.

Q2. Also note that it would be more realistic to list polycarbonate as a lot on your price breakdown sheet as there are different length sheets required for the roof compared to the sidewalls and the gable ends.

Not all of the sheets are the same length or the same price.

A2. SOI (sample) amended as of 8‐15‐2022 has a secondary tab with panel dimensions, also listed here:

current panel dimensions approx sq ft number of panels sq ft sum

4ft wide x 5 ft tall side wall panels 20 27 540

4 ft x 185 inch roof panels 60 36 2160

4 ft x 3 ft. swamp cooler panels 12 10 120 gables above swamp cooler 0

4ft x 98 in 32 2 64

4ft x 76 in 24 2 48

4 ft x 77 in 24 2 48

4 ft x 55 in 20 2 40

32 in x 20 in 6 2 12 exhaust fan ends 0

4 ft x 6 ft 24 2 48

4 ft x 8 ft 32 2 64

4 ft x 52 in 20 4 80

4 ft x 28 in 10 4 40

4 ft x 135 in 48 4 192

4 ft x 40 inches 16 2 32

42 inches x 18 inches 6 1 6

26 inches x 54 inches 10 1 10 column sums 103 3504

Q3. The other comments are relative to the control specification:

The greenhouse equipment is listed in both the top section which is the control section and also in the bottom section which is the glazing section.

The equipment should be in either the top section or the bottom section but not both.

A3. The SOI (sample) has been changed to reflect these changes. Reminder: The SOI (sample) was a result of two projects being combined. There was some overlap. This document is a sample, is NOT all inclusive and may be altered by vendor for submission. The important part of the request is to provide a detailed breakdown for the parts and labor ALONG WITH the lump sum quote submitted in the Mandatory Complete and return package.

Q4. I also question the VAF fan as I don’t think there is one at the site and it would not be beneficial in these small compartments. VAF fans are typically used in much larger production zones.

A4. Replacing what is on site

Q5. Are substitutions acceptable for the control system? There is no written specification on a Brand Name listed in the cost breakdown spreadsheet.

A5. The request is for Step UP controls or equivalent. This has been included in the SOI. Substitutions are acceptable. Please provide brochures/specs for the item being offered.

This solicitation incorporates 52.211‐6 Brand Name or Equal

Q6. I do not see any place in the price breakdowns to input the costs to modify the electrical circuits for the lights as described in the solicitation and cost for installation of the control system. The costs for installation are lump sum, they are not broken down into cost for each component of the system, as an example conduit and wiring will be required but there is not place to input those values. Generally installation is provided as a lump sum for both the reglazing/equipment replacement and also for the control system installation.

A6. The SOI (sample) has been changed to reflect these changes. Reminder: The SOI (sample) was a result of two projects being combined. There was some overlap. This document is a sample, is NOT all inclusive and may be altered by vendor for submission. The important part of the request is to provide a detailed breakdown for the parts and labor (industry standard breakdown is fine, does NOT need to be SOI sample) ALONG WITH the lump sum quote submitted in the Mandatory Complete and return package.

Q7. Are you expecting the Cost Breakdown document to be submitted with the bid or only the lump sum?

A7. Submit along with the quote please. The lump sum for each is to be entered in the “mandatory complete and return” package, the breakdown is to be provided as a separate document.

Q8. Can you confirm the number of unit heaters per compartment?

The bid sheet only has 2 unit heaters to be replaced, but should be four if there are two unit heaters per compartment.

A8. The heaters are not to be replaced. The STATEMENT OF WORK takes precedence over the SAMPLE SOI.
