About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding a federal contract opportunity for trail inspection and maintenance services within the Allegheny National Forest. The solicitation seeks a contractor to perform inspection and maintenance work across the extensive gas and oil truck road networks and ATV trail systems that intersect within the national forest, including portions of the Timberline ATV Trail that are accessible by vehicle. While the exact mileage driven by gas and oil trucks on ATV trails is unknown, as they are only permitted to use their own road systems, some sections of trails can be easily accessed by trucks. The opportunity will utilize an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract vehicle to obtain these services on an as-needed basis from the awarded contractor over multiple years.

Questions and Answers 12444324Q0030

1. How many miles of trail do the gas and oil trucks drive on the Timberline ATV Trail?

a. I don’t have an exact mileage, as the OGM networks are extensive in our area and they crisscross on our trails in many locations. Technically the OGM trucks aren’t permitted to drive on our trail systems (any of them, not just Timberline). They only drive on their roads, of which the ATV trail traverses/uses. However, if the prospective contractor is asking to determine how much of the trial is accessible via truck, there are portions of the trail (ATV trail only, no OGM activity) that is easily accessible with a truck, especially on Timberline.
