About this file
This document provides the questions and answers from a pre-proposal conference for solicitation number 1240LU24Q0005 from the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service. The solicitation involves a combined office and conference room remodel for the Deputy Regional Forester located in Missoula, Montana.
The remodel includes partitioning an area of the existing secretary's office to create an additional private office, matching all finishes and ensuring full functionality of both resulting offices. The conference room will have all existing furniture removed and stored. A new wall will be built to isolate individual offices, and the room will be remodeled as a dual purpose conference and hoteling/training area. Electrical, communication, and data lines will be installed in new walls and tracked in the floor to allow movable furniture. The conference will utilize a set-aside for small businesses and is due by January 11, 2024. Bonds of 100% of the contract price are required for offers over $35,000, with payment bonds over $250,000.

25. Q – Can we run multiple parallel tracks? This might be to avoid using “T”s, or to add capacity in the track?
a. A – Yes, provided they don’t make a ripple effect in the floor, i.e. peaks and valleys in close proximity.
Also, tracks can be placed adjacent to each other to increase capacity as needed.
Moreover, parallel tracks that are not adjacent, but close, can forego the transition ramps altogether. This can be done by using a uniform, equally durable, filler of the same height between them such as plywood, backerboard, or floating the floor. This will prevent ripples and provide a flat surface, which is overall preferable.
