The Government may award Option 1001 to Grind this section of trail or Option 1007 to Seal this section of trail, or not award either Option.
7. With respect to the retaining walls.
a. Can the contractor replace the “down-hill” (towards the water) with concrete to be more of a permanent solution?

The Engineering Basis of Design is timber retaining walls at Sites 3,-6 to connect to existing timber retaining walls. Any Contractor proposed change shall address how other materials would join or replace existing timber walls.
8. Given the small quantity that we will need to ground down to 1” minus we believe it will be cheaper to bring in millings rather than crush and utilize what is there. Would you be opposed to this method?
RESPONSE: Contractor should provide bid pricing as requested on the Bid Form. In the Contractor’s Technical Proposal submission with their Bid Package, Contractor may offer technical rationale and proposed pricing for different method.
Offerors are reminded to submit their Proposals in accordance with Section L. The Proposal must include a separate technical proposal and a separated business/price proposal. The Technical Proposal shall include Past Performance; Experience; and Technical Approach to Performing the Work.

Seeding is not required.
10. Drawings & Bid Schedule show Crack Cleaning and sealing as a base bid item. The bid schedule also shows asphalt Seal Coat as a base bid option while drawing show it as an option item. I assume you do not want both as a base. Which one should we figure as a base and which one as an alternate?

Contractor shall provide such material as needed and such material is included in Base Item 0005 Repair Sites 1-8.
