About this file

This document is Amendment 0001 to Solicitation 1240BJ24R0008 for the GAOA Thorne Bay Compound Water Quality Mitigation project. The amendment provides answers to contractor questions regarding the project scope, including the replacement of copper water lines with PEX tubing in the duplexes, quads, and bunkhouse facilities. Key details include:

The project requires replacing all water fixtures and potable water plumbing with PEX tubing in the Duplexes, Quads, and Bunkhouse at the Thorne Bay Ranger District in Alaska. The government estimates the construction magnitude to be between $250,000 and $500,000. The amendment clarifies that only the copper water lines going to the lavatory sinks and kitchen faucets need to be replaced, including opening walls to access the branch lines from the main supply. The amendment also confirms there is no digging required for the water line replacement. The solicitation closing date is not extended by this amendment.
