Amendment 4 Contractor Questions and Answers for Detroit Septic System Replacement
Question 1: Orenco pump model # based upon whomever ran the pump curve from the top of the tank to the drain field:
Answer 1: Details are for reference of standard typical pump system we are expecting. This is not a high head application. Contractor to select actual pump model to meet County evaluation and permit requirements.
Question 2: What type of a drain field?
Answer 2: “D” box or pressure bed with laterals: Gravity drain field. Pressure to D Box. Soils in area are good we do not expect pressured bed piping. No increased occupancy of gym. Match existing flows/discharge. We are not expecting to add new drain field but expect contractor to validate infiltration rate with test pits for existing drain field for county inspector as part of permit.
Question 3: Did the designer intend for demand dosing or timed dosing of the drain field – was not clear – this will effect the type of control panel.
Answer 3: Demand dosing activated by float.
Question 4: Control panel –
Answer 4: Orenco model # Standard manufacturer, showing system status, outdoor rated panel mount outside on building near tank, with visual and sound alarms. Will need electrical permit to add new circuit from building main panel to pump panel.
Question 5: From the last 2 above, did they intend for this to be a 4-float system or a 3-float system
– with on demand it will likely be 3 floats – with timed dosing it could be 3 or 4 floats?
Answer 5: 3 floats ON, OFF, Highwater Alarm.
