About this file

This document contains an amendment to a solicitation for road repair services and the pre-bid meeting notes related to the solicitation. The amendment provides clarification but does not extend the response deadline. The solicitation requests offers to repair approximately 5.49 miles of Beasore Road on the Sierra National Forest in California. The scope of work includes cleaning and reconditioning culverts, replacing corrugated metal pipe, installing metal end sections and a metal spillway, performing 6 inches of full depth reclamation from milepost 24.14 to 29.63, installing geogrid, grading and compacting material, importing and placing base rock, installing riprap, placing 4 inches of hot mix asphalt, and painting pavement markings. Bids are due by June 16, 2023 at 4:00 pm PDT and should be emailed to the contracting officer. The pre-bid meeting notes provide additional details on project access, schedule, and respond to an inquiry regarding current road conditions.

PBI-001

Is there access to the worksite at this me (05/23/2023)?

Answer: The work site is accessed from the West side (Beasore Road 7) and the East side (Minarets Road 81). Beasore Road was not accessible 2 weeks ago. Since then there have been temperatures in the 90 degree range and the snow is melng quickly. It is expected to be accessible soon. Minarets Road is accessible however you will need to get a Road Use Permit to travel on it since the road is closed at this me. You can get this permit through the COR Pablo Gonzalez at pablo.gonzalez@usda.gov. There is usually a 24 hour turn around period to receive this permit.
