About this file

This is a Vendor Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 1232SA26Q1417, concerning Annual Fire Protection/Life Safety System Inspections for eight USDA research facilities located in Colorado and Wyoming.

The contract requires annual inspections of fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, backfire prevention devices, and fire extinguishers across eight facilities: National Laboratory for Genetic Resources Preservation (NLGRP) in Fort Collins, CO; Crops Research Laboratory (CRL) in Fort Collins, CO; NRRC Building D in Fort Collins, CO; Fort Collins Research Farm (FCRF) in Fort Collins, CO; Limited Irrigation Research Farm (LIRF) in Greeley, CO; Central Great Plains Research Station (CGPRS) in Akron, CO; High Plains Grasslands Research Station (HPGRS) in Cheyenne, WY; and Central Plains Experimental Range (CPER) in Nunn, CO. Three facilities contain monitored fire alarm systems: CRL with a Simplex 4010 control panel, CGPRS with a Honeywell S3 panel, and NLGRP with an EST3 panel. Fire sprinkler systems include both wet pipe and dry pipe configurations. Backflow prevention devices total approximately 11 accessible units from manufacturers including CSC, Watts, Febco, and Ames, with three additional small units inaccessible due to locked doors. Site visits were scheduled for September 17-18 at NLGRP, CRL, and FCRF facilities, with Travis Vagher serving as the point of contact. Contractors must obtain background checks for facility badges and schedule inspections Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, excluding federal holidays. Previous inspection reports and device population details are available in Attachment 7 to support vendor pricing.
