# Reference RFI Response 1 Drawing MD 202 & M

202 The demo plan MD 202 calls to remove two existing 30” x 66” access doors. The new work plan M 202 calls for two new 30” x 66” access doors. Can the existing removed access door be reused in the new location? The existing doors are a perfect fit for the existing unit construction.

This is acceptable as long as the existing access doors are not damaged during demolition.

2 Drawing MD 201 & M

The demo plan MD 201 calls for removal of the existing air flow measuring stations – AFMS. The new work plan M 201 calls for new ductwork to be installed where the AFMS was removed. During today’s site visit the location of the AFMS’s were observed. The EAHU – 1 AFMS is not located as shown on the plan. It is directly on top of the EAHU – 1. It is surrounded on 3 sides by existing large ductwork and piping.

The fourth side allows room for a workman to crawl to gain access to the AFMS but not enough room to get replacement 42” round ductwork into place.

The EAHU – 2 AFMS is in a shaft. Access into that shaft is through a 24” x 24” access panel. Again, not enough room to get the replacement 42” round duct into place.

Would it be acceptable to remove the inner guts of the AFMS leaving the existing exterior casing of the AFMS in place?

This would accomplish the desired result at a significant cost savings. It would also limit the amount of time each EAHU would be completely off line.

This is acceptable. Any damage to the exterior casing shall be repaired to a Seal Class A rating to ensure minimal leakage.

3 Specification 23 23 00 Page 6 Para 2.4.8

Would Zoom Lock mechanical fittings be an acceptable alternate for refrigeration fittings 1.375” and smaller in lieu of brazed or flared fittings?

Zoom lock fitting shall not be used. All refrigerant piping shall be brazed per design documents.
