Insurance Requirements Summary
This document outlines the minimum insurance requirements established by Broward County's Water and Wastewater Services for contractors performing FEMA-compliant pipe and valve repairs and installation services. The contract requires comprehensive General Liability coverage with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, including broad form coverage for premises operations, explosion/collapse/underground hazards, products/completed operations, and contractual liability. Additional mandatory coverage includes Auto Liability with minimum combined bodily injury and property damage limits of $500,000, Workers' Compensation at statutory limits with Employers' Liability of $1,000,000 per accident, and Professional Liability for any engineering, surveying, or design professionals with maximum deductibles of $100,000. The contract further requires Pollution/Environmental Liability coverage of $1,000,000 per claim with a $10,000 maximum deductible if environmental hazards are involved, and an Installation Floater with "All Risk" completed value coverage if Builder's Risk or Property insurance is not carried, with Broward County named as loss payee.
The contractor must designate Broward County as an additional insured with primary coverage that does not require contribution from the County or its self-insurance. The insured's policy includes waiver of subrogation in favor of Broward County, and the County must receive 30 days' written notice of cancellation or 10 days' notice for non-payment. For claims-made policies, insurance must remain in force and evidence of coverage must be maintained for at least three years following contract completion. Excess liability or umbrella coverage may be used to supplement minimum liability requirements, and auto liability coverage may be waived if no driving is required for service delivery.
