About this file

This is a minimum insurance requirements document for the Secret Woods Tower Demolition project administered by Broward County's Parks and Recreation Division. The project requires contractors to obtain comprehensive insurance coverage across multiple categories, including general liability with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, auto liability of $1,000,000 combined bodily injury and property damage, and excess/umbrella liability coverage. Additional requirements include statutory workers' compensation coverage, employers liability of $1,000,000 per accident, and pollution liability/environmental impairment liability of $1,000,000 per claim with $2,000,000 aggregate if environmental hazards are involved. The document specifies that Broward County must be named as an additional insured, with the contractor's insurance providing primary coverage without contribution from the County, and includes a waiver of subrogation in the County's favor. For claims-made policies, coverage must be maintained with evidence of insurance provided for at least three years after contract completion.

The certificate holder is Broward County's Risk Management Division, located at 115 South Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301. Specific coverage types include broad-form commercial general liability covering premises operations, explosion/collapse/underground hazards, products and completed operations, contractual liability, and independent contractors, along with personal injury coverage. Auto liability may be waived if no driving is required for contract performance. Protection and indemnity coverage of $1,000,000 combined is required if the project involves watercraft operations. Pollution liability carries a maximum deductible of $10,000. The insurance requirements ensure adequate protection for all parties involved in the demolition project and reflect the hazardous nature of tower demolition work.
