About this file
This document is a pre-solicitation notice for a construction services contract at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Triangle Park (RTP) campus in Durham, North Carolina. The objective of the project is to provide standby power for chilled water generation to improve the reliability of the Central Utility Plant (CUP) that supports laboratories and buildings on the NIH and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) campuses. The work will consist of correcting medium voltage and low voltage duct bank settlement concerns, replacing existing medium voltage feeders, installing new medium voltage switches and generators, and constructing a new medium voltage generator yard and electrical vault. This is a Design-Build project with an estimated value between $25 million and $100 million. The anticipated solicitation release date is August 23, 2024, with proposals due on or about September 23, 2024. The government is assessing potential contractor capabilities, financial resources, and bonding capacity to meet the minimum $30 million single project bonding requirement. Based on responses, the contract may be set aside for small businesses or procured through full and open competition.
