About this file

Addendum No. 5 for the Highway 103 Waterline Replacement project is issued by the City of Idaho Springs and JVA, Incorporated, detailing modifications to the original bidding and contract documents. The project involves the construction of approximately 16,500 linear feet of 16-inch PVC waterline along Highway 103, with various bid items including water pipe installation, gate valves, fire hydrant assemblies, and associated infrastructure work. The substantial completion date is set for December 31, 2025, with final completion by January 31, 2026. The addendum provides clarifications on project specifications, adjusts bid item quantities, and addresses numerous contractor questions regarding excavation, pipe installation, materials, and construction methods.

The project is funded and does not have federal contracting requirements such as Davis-Bacon wages or American Iron and Steel (AIS) provisions. The bid form includes multiple line items with estimated quantities, such as 10,470 linear feet of 16-inch PVC main from 9-foot bury depth, 6,000 linear feet of rock excavation, and 3 fire hydrant assemblies. The contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits, including CDOT Utility and Special Use Permits, and must comply with specific specifications for road base, asphalt paving, and utility installations. The owner will provide asphalt testing, and the contractor must handle erosion control, seeding, and other site restoration activities as part of the comprehensive waterline replacement project.
