About this file

This is a minimum insurance requirements document for the Document and Records Destruction Services contract with Broward County's Records, Taxes, and Treasury Division in Florida. The contractor must provide secure on-site film and document records destruction services for the Records Center and other Broward County agencies throughout the county. The contractor is required to maintain NAID AAA Certification during the contract term and possess shredding equipment capable of destroying documents with staples, paperclips, binder clips, and similar fasteners. Services include destruction of paper-based records such as office papers, computer paper, file folders, and envelopes, with occasional needs for destruction of non-paper media including computer media, tapes, and microfilm. This is an open-end/indefinite quantity contract for an initial three-year term with two optional annual renewals, with the county able to issue purchase orders and direct purchases as needed.

The insurance requirements specify that the contractor must maintain General Liability coverage with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, Auto Liability with $1,000,000 combined bodily injury and property damage limits, Excess Liability/Umbrella coverage, Workers' Compensation at statutory limits with $500,000 employers liability per accident, and Professional Liability with $2,000,000 per claim (maximum deductible of $100,000). Pollution/Environmental Liability coverage is also required with a maximum deductible of $10,000. Broward County must be named as additional insured with primary coverage and waiver of subrogation. For Claims-Made policies, insurance must be maintained and evidence provided for at least three years after contract completion.
