About this file

Traffic Sensor Corporation's product document details Panel Mount Flashers, a technical specification sheet for electronic flasher units designed for traffic signaling applications. The document appears to be associated with a potential state contract, specifically referencing an Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) procurement for Group 7 equipment, with the manufacturer being Traffic Sensor Corporation.

The document describes two Panel Mount Flasher models: Model 25DF (operating at 60-135 VAC) and Model 12DC10DF (operating at 6-24 VDC). These compact flasher units are designed for chassis mounting with a small 1¾ by 2¼ inch footprint, capable of switching tungsten lamps, LEDs, or inductive loads. The flashers feature epoxy-filled construction for durability, meet NEMA and 170 Type specifications, and include heat dissipation capabilities through thermal conductivity grease and mounting design. The units offer single or dual circuit operation, with the ability to provide a spare circuit in case of overload, and are marketed as an upgrade path from electro-mechanical to solid-state reliable traffic signaling equipment.

Text version

Panel Mount Flashers Traffic Sensor Corporation's Panel Mount Flashers contain all flashing and load switching circuitry in a convenient to use cube style package. These flashers may be used for flashing two tungsten lamps, LED, or inductive loads. Single circuit operation is possible by connecting only one load, thereby providing a spare circuit should overload of the connected circuit occur.

These are chassis mount flashers with a small footprint of just 1¾ inches by 2¼ inches.

Mounting on a flat metal surface is simple through the two #8 clearance holes provided.

Usage of a high thermal conductivity grease is required between the flasher and chassis to help dissipate heat for long trouble-free operation. Besides mounting to a cabinet wall, these flashers may be used to upgrade electro-mechanical flashers to solid state reliability. These flashers are epoxy filled giving a rugged unit capable of withstanding the harsh environmental performance requirements of NEMA and 170 Type specifications.
