About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a road maintenance and stabilization project for the Angeles National Forest in California, focusing on roads damaged by fires in 2024 and 2025. The contract requires performing road maintenance on specific roadways including 3N06 E Blue Ridge Rd, 1N10 Tanbark Station Rd, 2N45 Mt Wilson Rd, 2N50 Mt Lowe Rd, and 6N13 Castaic Lake Rd. Key work includes 23.1 miles of road blading, installing drop inlets, restoring drainage features, upsizing 53 overside drains, and re-establishing rolling dips on unsurfaced roads.

The project is located within the Los Angeles Gateway Ranger Districts, with a projected start date of June 2025 and a 120-calendar-day completion timeline. The terrain varies from relatively flat to moderately hilly and steep, with soil conditions ranging from soft and sandy to compacted and rocky. The contractor must provide specialized equipment like bulldozers due to the extremely rocky terrain, ensure equipment is free of invasive seeds, minimize mechanical activity during rainy periods, and comply with fire safety restrictions. Required submittals include a project schedule, traffic control plan, materials shop drawings, and a quality control plan, with most documents due 14 days prior to the prework meeting.
