About this file

This document is a Public Contract Boycott Restriction Statement from the Jordan School District (JSD) in Utah, specifically an attachment (Attachment B) related to a procurement solicitation. The document outlines a requirement for vendors contracting with JSD to certify they are not engaged in any "economic boycott" or "boycott of the State of Israel" and must agree to maintain this stance throughout the contract period. The associated state and local contract opportunity involves constructing a new greenhouse at Herriman High School, located in Herriman, Utah, which will include a freestanding greenhouse, concrete foundation, plumbing and electrical utilities, lighting, landscape and irrigation modifications, and minor interior remodeling.

The solicitation follows the State of Utah Procurement Code and is structured to select the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting the specified requirements. The Jordan School District Purchasing Department reserves the right to reject any proposals and waive informalities in the best interest of the district. The boycott restriction statement requires vendors to avoid economic boycotts against specific entities, including the State of Israel, companies in traditional energy, mining, agriculture, firearms, those not meeting certain environmental standards, or those not facilitating specific medical access. Vendors must immediately notify the public entity if they engage in such boycotts, with compliance expected throughout the entire contract period.

(Revised 09/10/2024)

ATTACHMENT B

Public Contract Boycott Restriction Statement

In accordance with Utah Code 63G-27 (S.B. 97) Public Contract Boycott Restrictions, vendors contracting with the Jordan School District to provide any good or service, including supplies, information technology, or construction services, must certify they are not currently engaged in an “economic boycott” nor a “boycott of the State of Israel” as those terms are defined in that Code section. Vendors must also agree not to engage in either boycott for the duration of the contract (if awarded). For example, a vendor may not, without an ordinary business purpose, boycott: the State of Israel; companies engaged in activities related to traditional energy, mining, or agriculture; companies engaged in the manufacture, distribution, sale, or use of firearms; companies that do not meet environmental standards beyond applicable state and federal laws; or companies that do not facilitate access to abortion or sex characteristic surgeries. If a vendor does engage in such a boycott, it must immediately notify the public entity party to the contract in writing.

We agree to comply with the above statement during the entire contract period.
