About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for a battery storage shelving procurement. The document addresses four key inquiries from potential contractors regarding system specifications and design parameters.

The primary requirements clarified include: overall system height should be between 6' and 7' (modified from the original 6' 10" specification), with contractor discretion on the height of the first rack level provided that four adjustable shelf levels are incorporated for battery storage while minimizing wasted space. The "roll-out pallet" feature is specified as a solid shelf that slides out for battery storage rather than an actual pallet. The contracting officer references an attached visual mock-up and updated salient characteristics document to provide detailed specifications for the shelving system design.

Battery Storage Shelving Questions and Answers

1. Could you please clarify the expected maximum height of the entire system?

a. The original request was for a system 6’ 10” in overall height. We could accommodate a system between 6’ and 7’.

2. Is there a specific required height for the first rack level off the floor, or is that left to the contractor's discretion?

a. There is no specific requirement for height of the first rack level, as long as we have 4 adjustable shelf levels that are useable for battery storage and will minimize wasted space.

3. For the “roll-out pallet” does this mean a solid shelf that slides out so they can store batteries, or an actual pallet?

a. A solid shelf that slides out to store batteries.

4. Is there a drawing of the specifications that can be provided?

a. See attached visual mock-up of the specifications, along with the updated salient characteristics.
