About this file

This is Addendum No. 2 for Category 2 UPS RFQ 016-PUR-2025 issued by the Dougherty County School System in Albany, Georgia. The addendum modifies the original bid dated January 21, 2025, to request the Eaton (Tripp Lite) SMART3000RM2UL SmartPro UPS and Eaton WEBCARDXLE, including installation. The bid opening is scheduled for February 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM EST. While the district has a strong preference for the specified model, they will consider alternatives that meet comparable specifications including lithium batteries, outlets, and network connectivity. Installation work must be performed after school hours or during non-production hours to minimize network disruption.

The project is E-rate funded and will follow E-rate designated timelines for implementation. The existing environment includes a combination of 2-post and 4-post racks (predominantly 4-post), with L5-30P power outlets already in place at each site. The new UPS units will include a standard 5-year warranty, with no additional warranty requirements. Site visits can be arranged prior to bid submission if needed. The project scope includes both removal of existing UPS units and installation of new ones, with some locations not currently having UPS units installed.

CLARIFICATION(S) THRU Q&A

Q1 “Addendum 1 changed the model number from 5PX3000RTG2 to the 9PX3000RT model, but this model still does not have the network card and lithium battery. Can the district correct the model number requested for this RFQ? The correct model requested should be the 9PX3000RTN-L

A1 This is correct, the model should Read 9PX3000RTN-L.

Q2 “Will the number of UPS units that are to be installed match the number that will be removed?”

A2 No, some closets do not have a current UPS.

Q3 “Are all the UPS units that are being removed 2U in height?”

A3 Yes.

Q4 “Does the district have any 2-post racks or are all the racks 4 post the UPS units are going in?”

A4 There is a combination of both, but we mostly have 4 post racks throughout the district.

Q5 “Does the district have the applicable power outlet (L5-30P) needed to accept the plug from the power cable from the UPS at each site?”

A5 Yes.

Q6 “Does the district have a start date or completion date or is this contingent upon eRate approval?”

A6 Ideally, upon approval and E-rate designated timelines.

Q7 “The 9PX3000RTN-L has a standard 5-year warranty. What additional warranty needs to be quoted?”

A7 Only the 5-year warranty

Q8 “The requested UPS EATON Model 5PX3000RTG2 with Lithium Batteries, Based on my research, this model does not offer a Lithium battery solution. To provide a Lithium battery solution with the UPS, Eaton Model 9PX3000RTN-L would be required. Please confirm requested model with VRLA batteries will be acceptable.”

A8 See. A1.

Q9 “Are other UPS manufacturers be acceptable, if they meet the specifications.”

A9 We will evaluate alternatives.

Q10 “The scope of work includes removal of existing UPS systems and installation of new

UPS systems. Will the existing electrical receptacle meet the requirements of the new requested Eaton UPS. If not, will the awarded company be responsible to provide the correct receptacle/circuit fr new Eaton UPS.”

A10 Electrical will be in place and no.

Q11 “The scope of work, section 1, 2nd bullet point states ensure no disruption to active network services during the removal process. If the existing UPS supports the active network, the network will most likely need to be taken down during the transition and testing of new UPS. If this is true, will the work need to be scheduled after school hours.”

A11 After hours or non production hours will be ideal for this project.

Q12 “Can site visits for each school be scheduled before bid is due.”

A12 If needed, we can certainly schedule time to accommodate.
