About this file

This document is an Engineer Drawing Requirements specification for a communications and structured cabling project at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The project, designated F30001 Workstation Expansion MAX Out 2026TP096, requires the contractor to develop detailed engineering drawings for cable plant installation supporting new furniture requirements.

The contractor must meet communications cable installation standards per 88 CS/SCXI supplied COMM engineered drawings (CS2026-TBD, Attachment E). Cable installation must comply with 88 CS Telecommunication Requirements (Attachment B), IFS appendix G11 Telecommunications for Wright Patterson AFB, and Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)/Electronic Industries Association (EIA) standards. The project requires pulling back 124 existing CAT6 cables from surface mount boxes and installing 140 CAT6A cables (seven QNC units) from a 48-Port QUICKPORT patch panel in CER to drop locations in Project Room 1. Existing cables must be removed and discarded, raceway/surface mount boxes removed, and existing J-hooks raised to prevent newly installed cables from laying on ceiling tiles. Seven CAT6A cables must run from CER closest to Project Room 1 and 2 to designated drop locations. The contractor must conduct pre-testing, installation cabling per specifications, post testing, and quality inspections coordinated with 88 CS. Testing results must be submitted to CE Interior Design and 88 CS three days prior to quality assurance inspection. The cabling installer must be present during quality assurance inspection, and red-line drawing updates for any approved deviations must be provided post-inspection.

· Remove and discard the associated raceway/surface mount boxes

· Raise the existing J-hooks in Project Room 1 so that the newly installed cables will not lay on the ceiling tiles

· Run 16 CAT6A cables (seven QNCs) from CER closest to Project Room 1 and 2 to the drop locations using the existing cable pathways

· Install 140 4-port surface mount boxes in the beltway at the bottom of the furniture for each drop locations
