About this file
This document is an Environmental Management System (EMS) Awareness Training requirement for Tinker Air Force Base.
Tinker AFB established its EMS in November 2005 and issued its most recent Self-Declaration of conformance on August 30, 2018. The EMS is designed to achieve continual improvement in mission performance by reducing environmental risks and costs while integrating existing environmental programs into a unified framework. Tinker AFB has identified three high-priority environmental aspects: Hazardous Waste Generation, Air Emissions, and Storm Water. The facility maintains specific objectives and targets including zero Notices of Violation for compliance, reduction of hazardous waste by 20 percent by 2020 (with interim targets of 7 percent by 2015 and 15 percent by 2018), diversion of 65 percent of solid waste by weight by 2020, and reduction of Toxic Release Inventory releases by 35 percent by 2020.
All contractor employees physically working on Tinker AFB must complete the Tinker EMS General Awareness Training for Contractors (PowerPoint slides) and review the annual EMS policy letter. Contractor representatives are required to certify that all their employees working on-site will view the training materials. Environmental compliance and stewardship is designated as the duty of each individual working on the base. For questions or assistance, contractors should contact Mr. Joe Kracke, EMS Coordinator, at 405-734-4586 or joseph.kracke.1@us.af.mil.
