About this file

This is a Scope of Work document from the City of Douglas, Georgia, detailing a supply and installation project for cantilever slide gates at the airport. The project requires bidders to furnish and install four gates: one 25' x 5' black aluminum chain link cantilever slide gate without fabric, two 25' x 6' chain link cantilever slide gates with barbed wire and fabric, and one access control gate. All gates must include heavy-duty cantilever rollers, track systems, structural bracing, proper posts and footings, and four remote control transmitters per gate. The project is a complete turnkey installation requiring all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and supervision. Bidders must complete site inspections by May 22, 2026, and contact Chris Davis, Airport Manager, at (912) 389-1410 to schedule visits. The contractor must meet all City of Douglas and State of Georgia licensing requirements and obtain proof of a $100,000 Certificate of Insurance before work begins. Work must be completed within an agreed timeframe following Notice to Proceed, and a minimum one-year warranty is required with manufacturer warranties transferred to the City.

Bidders must submit separate pricing for each gate under two operator options: Option A features a keypad entry system with manual programming capability, while Option B includes manual programming, software programming, and remote access programming capabilities. Gate 4 requires Option B capabilities only. The City of Douglas will evaluate proposals and select the best option at its sole discretion. No additional compensation will be allowed for site inspections, and the bid will be awarded as a group rather than individual items. The City will supply power to each gate location, with the contractor responsible for final electrical connections and integration of operators, keypads, and controls.
