About this file
This is a specifications document for exterior athletic lighting at East Georgia State College's Tennis Complex, establishing performance and design standards for an LED lighting system installation. The project encompasses lighting for three tennis courts, with the primary objectives of guaranteeing minimum light levels for 25 years, minimizing environmental light spill and glare, reducing operational costs through energy efficiency, and implementing remote monitoring and control capabilities. The specifications require lighting at an average target illumination of 30 foot-candles with a maximum-to-minimum uniformity ratio of 3.0:1.0 across all three courts, with varying grid point measurements (30 points for Tennis Court 1, 15 for Tennis Court 2, and 45 for Tennis Court 3). The contractor must deliver equipment within 8-10 weeks of receiving approved submittals and complete order information, with field illumination measurements conducted upon substantial completion in accordance with IESNA standards.
The lighting system must operate on 480/277 volts, single phase power, with total energy consumption not exceeding 14.96 kilowatts, and include instant on/off capabilities with three-stage dimming controlled remotely via website, phone, fax, or email with 24/7 manufacturer support. The specifications mandate a 10-year warranty guaranteeing specified light levels, with the manufacturer responsible for all maintenance, parts, labor, and monitoring costs during the warranty period, including detection and repair of individual luminaire outages. The approved basis of design product is Musco's Light-Structure System with TLC for LED, with no substitutions permitted. All system components must meet rigorous durability, corrosion resistance, and safety standards, including UL listing, lightning grounding per NFPA 780, and wind load calculations based on the 2018 International Building Code with ultimate design wind speeds of 120 miles per hour.
