About this file
Addendum No. 1 for the Ecorse DWSRF 7892-01 Water Main Replacement project was issued by Giffels Webster on 06/11/2025, involving the City of Ecorse and Wayne County. The addendum includes multiple modifications to the original bid documents, such as quantity adjustments for water services, excavation, granular material, pavement, and aggregate base items. Key changes include updating water service quantities (e.g., reducing short 1.5-inch services from 2 to 1, increasing long 1.5-inch services from 2 to 6), modifying pavement cross sections for Wayne County jurisdiction (changing from 1.5-inch to 2-inch HMA, 8-inch to 10-inch concrete, and 6-inch to 9-inch aggregate base), and altering the location of known lead/galvanized water service lines.
The addendum also updates technical specifications, including gate valve and hydrant product numbers and opening directions. Gate valves will now open clockwise for various sizes (6-inch to 16-inch), and hydrants will open counterclockwise. A pre-bid meeting was held on June 10, 2025, at Ecorse City Hall, with meeting minutes included in the document. The project is funded through the DWSRF (Drinking Water State Revolving Fund) and will involve replacing approximately 12,500 feet of 8-inch water main and 500 lead service lines. The engineer's estimate is approximately $13 million, with the project expected to start in late 2025 due to loan closing. The bid opening is scheduled for June 23, 2025, at 10 AM, and the project will adhere to federal funding requirements, including Davis-Bacon wages and American Iron & Steel provisions.
